What is it that a pensioner, a temp worker and a banker have in common? They live in Germany. One of the richest countries in the world. A country whose economy is considered strong and whose social system is considered just. CONVERSION grants us an intimate look upon personal biographies entangled with the historical development of the welfare state. This way the impact of political decisions on individual people becomes apparent and a deeper understanding of context is being established.
